Are you willing to pay the cost to walk with God ?
(14 Oct 07)
Mark 10:35-45
In the stated scriptures James and John have a request of Jesus, (37) that they may be able to sit
on His left and right in His Glory. (38) Jesus ask if they knew what they were asking for, Are you
able to drink from the cup that I drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? (39)
They said "We are able" and then Jesus said "You will indeed drink the cup that I drink and with the
baptism I am baptised with you will be baptised (40) but to sit on My right hand and My left is not
Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared. ...(45) For even the Son of Man did not come
to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. (His life was His cost)
When we ask God into our lives, we make a commitment to serve the Lord. We realize that our
lives are no longer our own, we surrender it to God. To walk with God it will COST you something.
Your payment may be giving up some your old friends who mean you no good; it may cost you not to
visit the places you use to visit; it may cost you to change your conversation, change your attire,
change your attitude. It will COST you. (Freedom is not free) It will cost you your life, your life of sin
and doing things your own way in exchange for a life directed and driven by God and if you follow Him
you will have eternal life. You give up thinking everything is about you and realize that God has
called you to do a work for Him for the building of the Kingdom. If you know like I know, when God
calls you He prepares you for your season. When God has called you, you cant do what everybody
else is doing because you have been called out to do a work for the Father and not everyone can work
for the Father. You are special in His eye. He knows your cost, and know you are able to pay it if you
just continue to trust Him, He Got you! So add it all up and when you see the total, praise the Lord
that you can and are paying it.
There is a price to pay for salvation but the reward is better then any that man can give, a home
in the Kingdom, a life of peace and understanding.
Have a Blessed week and Serve
